Dental.me Score

One organic score for comparing dental practices.

Dental.me Score is a 0-99 comparison score used across Dental.me city, specialty, and practice pages. It combines visible rating strength, review-count strength, limited verification lift, profile detail, and fresh directory data so patients can compare dental offices without confusing paid visibility for organic ranking.

How the score is built

The public score is capped at 99. A visible score of 100 is intentionally not used, so an elite profile still has to keep earning trust through rating quality, review depth, profile completeness, and confirmed data.

Rating Strength

The Google star rating is translated directly into a rating-strength component. A 5.0 rating starts stronger than a 4.9, and a 4.5 is treated as a materially different signal.

Review-Count Strength

Review volume is scored by percentile against the Dental.me rated-practice dataset. This keeps a one-review 5.0 from automatically beating a deeply reviewed 4.9.

Verification Lift

Dental.me-reviewed or office-confirmed information can add a limited trust lift. The lift is capped so verification improves confidence without overpowering rating and review strength.

Profile Detail and Freshness

Complete contact details, website, maps, hours, provider names, categories, and recently refreshed profile data help patients compare offices and can help break close organic comparisons.

What the score does not measure

Dental.me Score does not measure clinical outcomes, patient safety records, diagnosis quality, treatment success, chairside manner, or whether a practice accepts a specific insurance plan. It is a directory comparison signal built from visible, source-backed profile data.

That distinction matters. Dental.me can help patients compare dentists by location, rating and review signals, contact details, profile completeness, and specialty/category paths. Patients should still contact the office for appointment availability, insurance participation, payment options, and treatment-specific questions.

Organic ranking and Featured placement are separate

A practice can buy Featured placement, but it cannot buy a higher Dental.me Score. Featured placements create premium visibility and are labeled separately from the organic list. Organic rankings use Dental.me Score and supporting ranking signals.

FAQ

What is the Dental.me Score?

Dental.me Score is a 0-99 organic comparison score that helps patients compare dental practice profiles by rating strength, review-count strength, verification signals, profile detail, and data freshness.

Can a dentist buy a better Dental.me Score?

No. Organic Dental.me Score cannot be purchased. Paid Featured placements are labeled separately and do not change organic ranking.

Why does review count matter?

Review count matters because a perfect rating from one or two reviews is less reliable than a near-perfect rating backed by hundreds or thousands of reviews.

Does Dental.me Score measure clinical outcomes?

No. Dental.me Score is a directory-strength and comparison signal, not a clinical-quality or patient-outcome rating.

How can a practice improve its profile?

A practice can claim its profile, correct outdated information, add supported profile details, request reviewed FAQ content, and keep contact information complete.
